Freestyle 2: Street Basketball Review

Developer: Joycity Publisher: Joycity Format: PC Released: 1. April 2015 (Steam) Freestyle 2: Street Basketball is, as you may guess from the name, a street basketball game. It is developed and published by Joycity, a South Korean game developer. As far as I can tell from the 14 hours or so that I have played the game is not highly advanced. But I would imagine that it has more depth later on in the game, as you get more moves and also get better with basketball strategies. Something that can be really useful is to screen the enemy players, but it can be bad too if you mess up, as there is a delay before you can move again. The game focuses largely on teamplay, although it is possible to just keep the ball to yourself, but don’t do that, that isn’t fun for anyone. If you manage to communicate with your team in a good way, it is unlikely that you will loose, although you do have to at least know the basic game mechanics. From the start you are fairly limited to what y...

Dirty Bomb Montage #1

Bilde
I made another Dirty Bomb Montage, please check it out! Project ImProvement - Dirty Bomb Montage #1 Editing is a bit better this time around, but of course it can still get a lot better, still figuring it out. Hopefully I will be able to post another video at the end of the month.

So, I watched Mad Max: Fury Road

So, I watched Mad Max: Fury Road Oh what a day… what a lovely day So, I watched Mad Max: Fury Road, it’s been quite a while now since I watched it. But I think I remember what it was about, I mean, it wasn’t exactly a hard plot to follow. The movie follows a man named, you guessed it, Max. Max is being held captive in a place known as The Citadel , by Immortan Joe and the War Boys. Max is designated as a universal blood donor, and therefore used as a “blood bag” for one of the War Boys, Nux, who is sick. It’s probably good to mention that the movie is set in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland, where both water and gasoline is rare. A woman named Furiosa is supposed drive a truck to Gas Town to get gasoline , but she turns and drive another way. Immortan Joe realises that she has taken his wives with her, and then he sends all of his War Boys after her. This is pretty much where the movie starts. From here on out it’s action, action, and more action. Only stopping so you c...

Hi, ImProvement here. I made a Dirty Bomb mini montage, hope you enjoy! Was supposed to post this at the same time as I uploaded it, but forget. Better late than never!

Initally a post about my difficulty of expressing myself (or something), but it turned into this...

The problem of expressing myself. This is something i have thought about for quite a while now, to explain my thoughts, that is something i have always struggled with. I am actually struggling a bit right now, as I am writing this. But this is something i want to get better at, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to start reviewing videogames, the other being that i simply love videogames. I have always had problems explaining to someone what i think about something, but still i like when people ask for my opinion. It’s not like I have any problem thinking about stuff, I think quite a lot, and that is something I like to do. But the problem comes when I have to put words on my thoughts, words in sentences that makes sense outside my head. There are a lot of things I want to do. One is to write, write about videogames, movies, and simply my thoughts on stuff. I also want to make videogames in the future, so my future education is probably heading in that direction. I may wan...

May Update

Hi, Acerien here. Sorry for not publishing anything this month, but I have simply not had the time to do so. My initial idea was to play through Transistor and write a review of it this month. Because of school and social life I have not been able to do a play through, and I can't imagine I would be able to have time for that any time soon either. Therefore, to make things a bit easier I will review another game. Considering that I don't have the money to buy every new game at launch, I will instead just pick from my steam list, start from the top, and hopefully put out a review every month. At least I hope to publish something every month, maybe not a review, but some thoughts on other topics. An example could be, as said earlier, I didn't have time because of social life, AKA friends. How important are friends? I may want to write something about this, so stay tuned, Acerien out.

One Finger Death Punch review - Time to punch

Bilde
Developer: Silver Dollar Games Publisher: Silver Dollar Games Format: PC (reviewed), Xbox 360 Released: 3. march 2014 Copy bought by my self I like One Finger Death Punch. Not to say that it does not have any flaws, but simply that it is fun to play. With its fast paced action and excellent feedback I found it hard to quit the game, I just wanted to play one more level, then one more, and so on. Even to sometimes redo the level to get that platinum medal, which quickly became a bit too difficult. It is a bit funny how the game works. When you are doing good, you get rewarded with a more difficult game, if this is a reward or not you can decide for yourself. What it does is to speed up the game. You start at a 100%, and you can go all the way up to 200%, so when you are doing good the speed increases, and if you get hit, or dies the speed decreases. Even though it may not be that much of a reward that the games gets more difficult, it quite satisfying when you get clo...

Quick update

Hi, Acerien here I have decided that i want to change this project a bit. At first i thought of just doing a game review every month, in other words a game critique project called Acerien Game Critique. But instead i will change the name to simply “Acerien Project” or “Project Acerien” i have not yet decided. So instead of just doing game reviews i would like to share my thoughts on multiple subjects. So let’s see how that’s going work out. Also, right now i am working on a review of One Finger Death Punch, hopefully it is going to be posted on the 15th of april. In addition i am going to make some changes to the looks of my page, and make a logo and some stuff. Not completely sure when this is going to get done, but hopefully i have enough time to do it quite quickly. I may write more than one post a month too, but this is not for certain. And last, in May i am going to do a review of Transistor, so stay tuned for that. Acerien out.

What i think so far: Tera Fate of Arun

What i think so far: Tera Fate of Arun Tera is a free to play MMORPG, which takes place in a fantasy world. I have now played for about 26 hours or so and have hit level 42, so i thought i would share some thoughts. Character creation: Let’s begin with the character creation, which i think i at least decent. You can choose between 7 races and 9 classes. Afterwards you can customize how your character looks. The customization is good, not great but good. There are some presets for you to choose from, but you can also fine tune the looks. And at last, you of course have to name your character. The world: Up to this point i would say that the different zones has been quite varied in how they look (if only the enemy variety had been that good as well). But i would say that the beginning island is the most visually stunning zone so far, although several of the other zones look good as well. Some zones look more dull that others, but i don’t really mi...
